Don’t listen to these companies when they tell you these cameras don’t record 24/7 that they only record during an “event, accident, etc” got called in because the camera picked up on me picking my phone up off the floor after it fell to put it back on the the stand. I watched the video they showed me, it didn’t have me looking at the phone, playing with the phone or pressing any buttons. Just literally pick it up and put in the stand and I got my first warning. Company policy is no phone in hand while operating vehicle which is fine with me but come on! Like really?!? Company cell phone policy is also that there is only ONE warning & then second offense is termination. Does not matter if I still work for the company 7 years from now & have another “incident” I’m terminated on the spot. This is outrageous and has me thinking of looking for a new job. What are you guys thoughts on these cameras? I’m all for the camera nothing against it because I feel like I follow policy procedures etc so I never had an issue with them but how this is very petty if you ask me. So don’t be FOOLED! These camera are active 24/7! I had no even take place and I wasn’t even on the road! I was at the receiver creeping in the parking lot. Yes truck in drive but not going over 5mph. Not making an excuses and I’ll take my warning fair and square but better believe the hunt for a new job is underway!

Personally I have no issue with them giving you a warning for that. It's still distracted driving. However I think there should be a fall off time for that warning. Meaning 6 months a year something of that nature.

What's really funny is that my company will text me while I'm driving and then turn around and tell me that "safety is cracking down on texting while driving". I told them then stop ####ing texting me while you know I'm driving. I use voice-to-text to reply anyway so I don't have to hold the phone but still.
