Anyone use the Conestoga? How hard are they to set up? What are their limitations?

Tarp systems are the way t go if you ask me. They will limit what you haul since you can't do over width or anything very tall. I don't know about that perticular brand it's not one I have seen before

We chose not to go with one, instead buying a flat w/sidekit because you can haul OL, OD and most loads for flats arent very tall unless you haul hay. I think we have had 2 loads above the cab of a Peterbilt, the rest 2-4 ft hi. Rolls of Aluminum on end are the tallest stuff, that and LD33 containers. I don't think its worth the extra fuel.

Yeah that set up looks like it would be a tarp saver (the Conestoga) but someone in another thread mentioned loading by cranes would be difficult.

I haven't pulled one. There is a company in Rochester, MN that makes cabs for ag and industrial equipment, and they used those or something similar, its much easier to secure cargo on a flatbed.
I have also seen some with swinging doors on the back, those work much like a dry van.
The alternative in using a regular box is that you need to secure the article in a rack to protect it. In certain applications, the roll tarp is a good choice, but not in all applications. -
no, you could load that with a crane. What you can't load with a crane is a curtain side van. They have a metal roof and swing doors with curtains on the side. They can only be loaded from the side or rear.

Not bad but I they must be expensive at first. -
I believe Chameleon and Quick draw are the brands I have seen allot of. Not sure.
I bet they aint giving them away

they add between 15 and 20 k to the price of a new trailer
if your rail gets bumped it makes it extremly difficult to open and close
