Think again! Keep in mind you car is illegally parked, therfore you are in the wrong. Save you money for fixing you car and someones trailer, not lawyer fees...

I always hear it's "my friend said..." or, in some very brave cases, "I..." Most of the time, it's bovine excrement and would serve better in the field on the crops. Thing is, you can tell when it's crap and there's some rookie telling the story all over again, only it was him.

 

I talked to my best friend....a cop...he says even if a policeman tell you to do such things, you can be held liable by the owners of the vehicle(s) you hit. It's still considered a "hit and run" even if directed to do so by the officer.

 

Oh, bacon, bacon, bacon, I'd get it myself, but I don't have thumbs!!!!!!!!!

not an urban legend, although I always thought it was a truck driver story, that is until it happened to me in Brooklyn. Double parked brand new Saturn sedan on the corner that I had to turn left. I knew I could make the corner, but my trailer end was going to swing and catch the car. And it was parked right across the street from the Police station! I wrote down the tag and went in and gave it to the desk Sargeant. He ran the plate and said it didn't belong to anybody at the station, and said do what you have to do. I did, and the bottom edge of my ICC bar left a gouge down the side of the car, and took off the rear view mirror. And the cops standing in front of the station waved as I went by!
