I know some plants like certain outside carrier drivers. I know one of my trailers at SPT Matheson would want them as their driver

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

They have contracts that keep them busy. Essentially for them to be "ready" when needed so they have a minimum amount of loads they are contracted to haul regadless.
The Cryo division of KAG has nothing to do with the rest of the company so no switching of eqiupment happens. They work out of Airgas terminals, contracted to them. Not like you can just hop into a chemical or fuel truck. -
We’ve been staying busy. We also have two LGT guys running for us out of our plant. Might slow down at the end of the month or in December but so far so good.

To any experienced cryo drivers:
A recent/current hazmat driver ad from Airgas reads (partially) as follows --
"Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred, Three (3) years of Haz-Mat or Tanker experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years technical college or military technical experience
- Product knowledge of cryogenic, compressed and specialty gases, preferred...."

My guess is that they’re saying they prefer an experience crying driver. A plug n play guy.
I would still apply since it’s a very low chance they’ll get someone with prior experience. That’s why it says preferred and not required.
All cryo companies train. They mostly look for experienced drivers with over 3 years driving experience.scythe08, ThatGasDude, Dennixx and 1 other person Thank this. -
"an experienced crying driver"

That one's a KEEPER!

Most of the cryo driver openings I see now (at least anywhere in the southeast) are for TEAM drivers.
No thanks....

We have 4 Air Products trucks that are local and fill at our plant.
They have been looking for a driver since spring and I see they got one on the hook today training...reel em in slow guys.scythe08, Rugerfan and viper822004 Thank this. -
Air Products helium and hydrogen teams make really good money. $170k+
-
I don't see those kinds of numbers in the southeast.
Must be a cost of living diff.
