With slowdowns companies get picky on who they hire. Especially since it cost time and money to get a driver trained up for cryo from scratch. In some cases guys don’t even care for the job and quit anyways. I remember when I was at AP and it was super busy they dropped the experience requirement from 3yrs plus tanker experience to 1yr and no tanker experience needed. We got all kinds of guys in that didn’t even realize how lucky they were to even sniff that job.

Happy thanksgiving, Gentlemen! Worked thursday and friday and we get premium for both days, so Hopefully that means I can either get my old 98 Ram fixed or say goodbye to it.
Got 3 days vacation to burn before the year is up. I may head back to Utah or Arizona for a few days. If I go to Utah, I may go visit the Garfield Plant or the Ogden facility. I have no idea what that is. I cant find find, but they had ads for it. Been in Oregon almost 5 years and only left once. I need to some road trip time.Dennixx, Rugerfan and viper822004 Thank this. -

So I know nothing about Cryo. But I have a question. I run pneumatic dry bulk and I thought our blowers and blowdown was loud but a cryo guy unloading CO2 yesterday made the noise I make sound like a mouse fart at an AC/DC concert. He came in and hooked up and I heard what I assume was a PTO pump start up. Next thing I know there’s a stream of vapor venting out of the tank setup he’s hooked to and a huge whooshing noise ensues. He was 100 yards away from me and I couldn’t even talk to the guy next to me. It went on the entire time he unloaded. Huge cloud associated with it too. I’ve done liquid bulk of many commodities and dry bulk so a better than passing familiarity with bulk unloading but for the life of me couldn’t figure out exactly what was going on. I assume it’s normal ? Can someone explain what was going on? Thanks for slaking my curiosity.
