Okay....
KAG has a "call & demand" program where you work for them for 3 weeks, then you go home for a week.
Lather, rinse...& repeat.
The kicker here is....KAG would hire you (assuming you were otherwise qualified) -- regardless of where you live in the lower 48.
Thus: do any of the private cryo fleets have anything like that? Or do they only hire candidates who live, say....within an hour's drive from a mill?

Air Products has a similar position. 3 weeks out and 1 week off. The only thing is that you have to drive yourself to the nearest location that’s hiring. Then from there they provide you with transportation to wherever you’re needed.
We have a guy that lives 4 hours away and does this.lual Thanks this. -
What does Air Pdts call their version of this position?
Does the nearest terminal (to me) have to be the one with the open position? Or are they instead a starting point where AP would then send me elsewhere to another mill (e g., in another state) that actually needs the help?

They’re called Regional Support Drivers.
I am not really sure if it has to be the one hiring but I know they have a north region and south region. If you get hired in the north, you’ll be send to any state in the northeast or north Midwest or Canada.
All south region guys stay From Texas to Midwest to Florida. Nothing out west yet for this position.
I would think that at least be in the region where that position is open. Just apply and see what they tell you. I’ll try to get more info for you guys.lual Thanks this. -
Should of went not my problem bye

KAG application requires you to put in position your applying for. Because when I went what the hell and applied to them. I selected the closest thing to me. Which was some random account in NH. Was declined thoughlual Thanks this.

Follow-up.....
Answer (from the Air Products job description):
"Drivers living outside of hiring area will be required to drive to AP nearest location."
This info of course then begs the question....
Would Air Products help out any with the expenses for such a commute?
For me -- this would be a drive of over 3 1/2 hours, one-way (to Conyers, Ga).

Hey! Conyers is a great terminal!!
And the answer to that is no. You have to reach Conyers on your own expenses.
You’ll be out for a minimum of three weeks and go home for a week. You can stay out longer if you want.
Once in Conyers, Air Products pays for everything like rental cars to get to other terminals and hotels.
This is only for the Regional Support Drivers and not local drivers. Local drivers have to live in the Atlanta area.
With the amount of money you make as a regional driver, the 3hr drive is so worth it. And you only do it once at the beginning and at the end.lual Thanks this. -
But I didn't, and I'm sure you have enough problems of your own without adding mine so.... bye bye back at cha.
-
At the risk of sounding maybe a bit too sarcastic/cynical....can you elaborate on how/why Conyers is a great terminal?
-- Lviper822004 Thanks this.
