Huh, intersting! Theres also a Hydrogen plant for PLUG in the area too. Thanks, Lual!

I had planned on moving anyway after my year is up here anyway. The equipment issues and lack of new business are worrying me. I make more than enough to pay bills on 40 hours a week. I just dont want to get a surprise layoff. I guess I could always see if they would need me to do Rest and Roll for Nitrogen or something. I'd need to be retrained on Oxygen again, since I've never done a solo delivery and haven ttouched the product since october of last year. I remember when I was with CO2 here, how hard it was just to get basic maintenance on the trucks, and we didn't slip seat there, so it was alot easier for me to just care for one truck, that I was the only driver of.
. Here, the trucks never stop moving long enough to do anything and the other drivers wont even lift the hoods, let alone do anything preventative. No one but me even puts a tire gauge on the trucks. I'm having to care for 3 trucks(I dont do any oxygen, so I dont have to deal with those trucks and trailers, thankfully, But we have 2 trailers down and one truck down there as well) that No one will help me with, because ,"Its not their job".

I think I have most of the Linde/Praxair terminals marked of google maps. I've been scouting real estate in the areas local to them. I just need to go through and take notes of which ones have their own shops, check housing in the area, and availability of other work in the area in case I decide to not drive anymore or something happens at that Barn(layoff or whatever)

As always, I appreciate your help and advice.

We just put on a new driver last week.
Didn't even know we were hiring.
Maintenance has always been sub par here..15 years.
Doesn't seem corporate cares so that rubs off on the drivers and can't say I blame them.
It is currently-10 going down to -20 so just getting trucks to start is sometimes a challenge.

I wonder if that's why with my time at SPT. Mostly did Matheson?

These are the next best thing! Put one in each chest pocket on your shirt and they will just about cook you out of your jacket. $30 for a box of 40 and the 2 will last a 12 hour shift. You just have to shake them every couple of hours. https://www.amazon.com/HotHands-Body-Hand-Super-Warmers/dp/B0007ZF4Q8

We can't use those anymore. They're prohibited because of the reaction with oxygen.

These are what the company provides for us.
The small hand warmers and the larger body warmers, which activate by peeling of the backing sticky.

Yeah, Air Products used to provide them too but last winter we had a safety meeting about them and they no longer want us to use them.

It increases the risk of a burn injury when working with oxygen because the hand warmers are activated through consuming oxygen through oxidation.

    Something like that.

The heat packs are made from shaved iron, and the heat is produced when the iron rusts, I.e. oxidizes. You can stop them by putting them in a baggie. No oxygen, no heat.

I suppose the chemical reaction WOULD accelerate in a high oxygen environment, but I’m going to be from Missouri on any claim of burn danger.
