Sad news. I got rejected by both Airgas and Linde. Not surprised to be honest. Competition is almost certainly fierce for those cryo jobs, so I have settled on a port job for now making $28/hour plus time and a half for overtime (and a 4 day work week to boot). It’s not what I wanted per say (especially since it’s through everyone’s least favorite CDL employment agency), but it doesn’t sound like a half bad gig and I don’t trust that I would find success at GenOx given that cryo is slow and likely to get slower if the economy keeps ticking down.

In 92 quit UPS and got on with a department store.
Same union and near same wage, 25 per hour back then.
Fast forward14 years and they were bought out and closed the distribution center.
Left before as I saw the writing on the wall and got on as a shop foreman at same wage because I had a cdl to drive truck to the incinerator once a month.
But the 2007/2010 crap hit.
Took a non union freight job till Praxair called. Was out in Montana on the bikes but said yes,of course I'll work for you.
Ain't made less than 100K since.
Really love the cryogenics work.
Never the same day, don't deal with shippers or receiver's and home every night with weekends off.
And the benefits and 401k allowed me a healthy return for our future.
If your done with the BS of OTR I highly recommend this gig if you can conform to the strick rules, and bite your tongue at some stupid shi*, you can treat it as just a job and have a mostly fulfilling life while still driving a truck regionally.
I filed my retirement papers today and hope to be done here by October-December, maybe sooner, depending on insurance for the Mrs.Sirscrapntruckalot, surf_avenue, scythe08 and 4 others Thank this. -
LaPorte is hiring for that.
They're always also offering sign on bonuses -
Anyone out of Seattle? AP is hiring a few drivers out of there.
Also Pryor Oklahoma needs drivers.
Those two are top priority right now.
Also jobs in Midwest, New York and Pennsylvania -
If that $90,000 is accurate for Puyallup, then Goodluck finding people up there that can afford to live on it.

If you look at all their driver postings, they're all posted at that range. Even hydrogen guys are posted very low compared to what they actually make.
