    Well Genox went silent on me. So I guess I didn't get it. Even though it would of been perfect for me. Also don't you love it when apply for a job and talk to them about it. Then a week later the job is posted again.

    Because they probably get a 100 applicants for every spot they post. Things will turn the other way someday and it'll be a driver's market again.

    @aramil248

    I remember you said you live in Maine. That company H.O. Bouchard comes to mind. I believe they got several locations in Maine. Maybe one isn’t too far from you?

    I think once I saw one of their job postings. I think they might require knowing how to use manual transmission. Which technically I do. But it was over 5 years ago. Last time I remember trying to use one. It didn't go well. Been tempted to ask my current job about either getting assigned one or seeing if their able to give me a refresher. But often I'm reminded why I like having a auto

    I was actually talking about you the other night and about the difference in your attitude now, just from a few years ago and how its similar to alot of others I have spoken with here, and just the difference I have seen in the past 3 years. There are ALOT of power players and very experienced drivers that are going to be retiring in the new few years and I dont think Linde has a clue(or cares) what they are going to do when that knowledge walks out the door. The difference of professionalism between the guys that have been here 10+ years before Linde bought out BOC, Praxair, Ect, is a drastic difference than what is coming into the door now.
    Things have picked up here. Equipment is still barely functioning, But at least it goes down the road...sometimes. I think we've lost some accounts. We had a big one that ran from june to September and took a load a day of LIN and was one of the most scenic routes we have. Looks like Airgas got it. Customer says, they "changed their processes" , but some Linde peeps drove up there and scoped the place out and saw Airgas pulling in and out of there. There are a few places down south that we used to hit and we dont go there anymore. We didnt have alot of customers anyway, so this is concerning. We have a few N-plants at various customers that we feed, that give us alot of work, and 3 of them should be fulling online this year, which means that work is gone mostly. If it wasnt for the Fife having too much work and we get some of theirs, We would probably have to lay off 2 of 3 people out of 7. Management has been extremely cold as of late, but thats a Linde given.

    My frustration in not just with the company but with societal norms and the motoring public in particular.
    Maybe they think drivers will always be available and the work desirable but I'm not sure as we move into a future of AI and monitored everything.
    As far as others we share the road with, I've really noticed a change in the habits of the 4 wheelers and even most big trucks since HOS change but especially since covid.
    More of a "me first" attitude and no fear of reprisal or penalties, mostly due to lack of enforcement IMHO.
    In 51 years I've never had an accident!
    I've never hit a person, object or another vehicle but I'm a bad operator because I can't..or won't focus my efforts on leaving a magic bubble of safety around the truck while driving.
    I don't drive for the camera's and I won't!
    I've always treated my job the way I've viewed other jobs.. in that I expect professionalism with the experience to get the job done.
    Management will now have us view our own camera events weekly and self coach begining July 1..lol
    I told them I don't need to watch it again as I was there and lived it originally.
    Said it would tramatize me and most likely will need time off for mental health recovery..lol
    As I leave this morning I have 20 weeks left minus vacation time and I pray to the almighty to give me the strength to eat my pride and my words and let me glide into Decembers pending retirement...rant over.

    You're so close to the finish line. Focus on what waits for you on the other side of it. You can do this!
