Well I know Airgas is working on replacing skill, experience, and expertise with automation. How so?? Well we have been working on automated delivery systems that basically only require the driver to do the bare minimum when making deliveries. This system is already in Europe and and is being pushed in the name of “efficiency.” But guess what?? When things go wrong and you have to switch over to “manual mode” you need us pros that have been around since pony motors to figure it out. Like we say they wanna take the monkey out of the equation.

Well it’s different for hydrogen as we tend not to vent as much also turbine pumps aren’t the norm. But basically a computer would monitor pressure, temp, flow, etc. driver hooks two hoses one vapor recovery and the other liquid. Checks a few manual valves on customer tank and trailer. Then hits start, computer controls pneumatic valves on both customer side and trailer side to purge fill line, equalize both tank pressures, chill pump on trailer and start offloading. Computer will stop when tank is full or trailer is out of product. This is in a perfect world and we all know it ain’t perfect!

Got a call back. Am approved. Would start at $39/hour. Very tempting

That actually sounds awesome lol. Not having to go back and forth and checking pressures. Especially tanks that are really far away.

    Friend and scythe08 Thank this.

Ask how long the contract is for.
If they lose it for whatever reason you'd be at their mercy or looking again.

One thing I was told. It's currently slow but will pickup in fall. I think they might have it often or something. Because I remember when I was at SPT. I saw a ad for this.
Also was told I think it was CNG or something. Trying to get into a account in Maine for it
