I use to love that run we would head out from Socal out to Vandenburg AFB (SFB) and make the delivery then head back. Easy 12hr day!
-
You did the right thing. Always CYA, even if the plant operator is someone you trust.
How come the hose didn't fit? I figured cryo used a standardized fitting like we do in LPG (we use Acme fittings).Dennixx Thanks this. -
It was going into the plants massive storage tank. Only hose size that fit was their fill hose which was connected to it. Discharge hose is smaller connection. There is probably some logic behind it that I don't know ofRockinChair Thanks this.

In cryo ever product has its own fitting to both load and unload as well as different diameters for loading and unloading, prevents cross contamination. Old story goes driver unloaded nitrogen into a hospitals liquid oxygen tank and killed some patient’s!viper822004 and RockinChair Thank this.

Question. Is there a was for me to buy a adapter for the sample line? So then don't need to deal with whatever type of adapter a plant has? I could possibly ask my work. But thought its better to find it myself. Then can probably get reimbursed for it
-
Depends on the plant you load out of I know our plant and the ones I had been to all had sample line adapters on hand you just had to ask.
-
I might just ask my trainer. Because that's how theirs was setup. With adapter already on itCali kid Thanks this.

Don’t be the guy who steals them either, we had that happen a few times.
-
As a bulk oxygen user (7K gallon tank, 4K gallon tank), I can tell you we don’t pay near that, not even half.
The only reason is that we own our tanks, and if one of the companies gets frisky on the billing we switch suppliers. No cryo company will touch another cryo companies tank. But they’ll all fill a customer owned tank.
What’s really revelatory to me in this thread is how much product you guys haul out of plants that aren’t the closest to the customer. The cost of that has to be out of this world.viper822004 Thanks this.
