Not every company uses Dac (Hireright). There are probably way more companies that don't use it than there are that do.

Actually SPT does use it. Because when I applied to them last October. They sent me my DAC. So I assume that means they use it. But their listed under PGT.

Reading over the several posts here about Southern Pines Trucking, seems like the company is trying to go too hard, too fast. Older equipment no-one knows how to operate (no offense posters). Lack of experienced guys to train new drivers on how to unload cryo. When it comes to cryo, driving is the easy part. SPT seems to want to be Genox or LGT, but they don't have the solid background in cryo those other companies have.

Hi I’ve been researching on Cryo hauling and SPT sent me an application from what I’m reading it seems like I should stay away from them since I have no experience hauling refrigerated gas

It might or might not work for you. I think it depends on the person. Also if lucky with a trainer. I enjoyed my short time there

I say, stay away from there. Biggest problem i had was both truck and trailer havin breakdowns.
Ive been lookin at Messer but i would have to drive 1hour 25min everyday to work there.

My first 2 trainers have been doin it for about 6years. Problem with the first 2 trainers is that my manager shouldve asked them if they had anything comin up in December. So part of my experience is my manager fault.

Example: time off, personal issues, "PM" on truck and i put quotations because i didnt see him for 2days for that PM.

I mention those 3 because thats exactly what happened December. So i would just stay at truck stop some days doin nothin. No consistent trainin at all that's why i ended up with a 3rd trainer in January and he was really cool and i got the hang of it but after the 6th breakdown in 2months(2wice same truck, 2different trailers and 2wice on pto on last truck) i just couldnt deal with it anymore.
I really wanna try doin cryo again but not sure when, i really wanna get on as an owner operator. After learnin how important Nitrogen is, i realized there's tons of work for it.

My 2 cents here on cryo work.
If you want to work the industry and make substantial money and retire fat you need to work for a producer period!
While a secondary supplier/carrier has some advantages, like dedicated trucks or no cameras you will never make the kind of dollar as with the maker of the products you pull.
Home every weekend with vacation and big time benefits.
Going on 14 years I know of what I speak.
My advice is if your able is "move to the food"
    Not many private carriers left.

Over 5000% return on the stock has left me feeling pretty good.

Coming from a private fuel fleet before I got into cryo I can confirm this. Once you experience what it’s like to work for a global producer who’s fleet is but just a small division of their overall business you’ll never wanna go back to just a 3PL.

Hey guys, do the Linde terminals all pay differently? I just applied to Linde for Class A helium but they don’t list their pay. Also, do they have a yearly retention bonus? I am at Air Products and it’s looking like they took ours away. lol.
