The Pension plan changes per terminal/ per contract. In Portland, our Pension was that we were paid $4.80 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, into our pension plan and that was it. Work 50 hours a week, only 40 hours at $4.80 would be paid into it. The non union terminal in Hilsboro had a pension plan that was different than ours. It paid less, but they also had a 401k that Linde matched up to a certain percentage and that were paid almost $4 more than my Barn was. But almost every terminal thats Union will be different. If they are non-union, they are most likely the fall under the same Linde plan. BUT there are different Linde divisions. The 4 locations in the portland area all service differently. My Barn strictly did CO2. The Hilsboro branch Did all the others. The Tualatin branch doid CO2, Nitrogen, and also did welding gases. Then there is a strictly welding gas store. All are different in pay, benefits, and retirement. Make sure you ask, specifically , what yours is. The recruiter may not know, so make sure you are talking with someone from that facility.

Yes, that majority pay different. You will get a retention bonus for your hire day. I think ours was at 6 months and then at a year and that was it. We didnt do profit sharing at our barn, so I'm not sure if others do.

Hello, I stalk this thread a fair amount so wanted to ask this. WA state resident, enhanced license, TWIC, all endorsements, no restrictions. 7 months so far currently doing reefer all 48. Looking for any suggestions on tanker companies that’ll take me and are decent. I want to do OTR / Regional. I plan to apply at Southern Pine Trucking or Idaho Milk Transport as those seem decent and will take at 1 year. I checked Indian River out but reviews say pay is low there. I don’t mind reefer but I really want to use my endorsements and all the extra stuff I paid & studied for. Any input is appreciated

Just go on indeed, you’re in a state that’s constantly looking for drivers most of the PNW pays well too.

Seems quiet here since the southern pines drivers said they were leaving. Whats going on with yall out there?

Seems ppl don't know or mingle with too many matheson drivers. But I heard from a reliable source that multiple drivers have been canned. They've gone live with the AI technology in drive cam.

Sounds like there will be some openings soon. Or either 3rd party contractors will gain more work soon.

We went to the AI cams too.
Haven't heard to much about any issues.
Most know not to do what's against the law and company policies but I still eat and drink.
We were just told they will be going live on all cameras on the rigs, sides and rear, so no sitting inside while unloading anymore..seems like they are getting real anal since we are looking for a big contract in March.
Just a bit much for me so I'm hanging it up by years end if I can last that long.

Just delivered NI to a hutterite colony in SD this evening and was a mud pit that almost sucked me under. 15 miles of soft gravel to get to the stop really beats up the equipment.

What's interesting. I'm still getting the safety emails. Actually yesterday I got a email from PGT wanting some form filled out. Because Southern Pines goes through them. It's a form for "safety performance history verification" from Hartt.
