So I saw a Messer sleeper truck. Any idea what they use them for? Because if it's for regional work then I'm thinking might be worth me talking to them. So then I don't need to worry about their closest plant because over 2 hours away.

Air Products is upgrading their team trucks to better accommodate the drivers is what they said. But still keeping the mid roofs.

All the top 5 private cryo companies mainly run teams on LHY. But they also have 3rd party carriers running LHY too. But the private carriers are 5on 2 of or 6 on 2 off. And the 3rd party carriers tend to be 2 to 3 weeks out on LHY.

The private carriers tend to also have team runs for LIN, LOX, LAR, & CO2. BUT THE 3RD Party carriers only have solo drivers on those gases.

No the private carriers aren't pushing teams heavy on regular ASU gases. But they are for LHY. There aren't a whole lot of hydrogen plants. So teams can cover more ground than a solo driver. However in about 10 or 15 yrs. There will be a bigger hydrogen presence than there is now. So it will become more of localized runs.

As far as firing owner ops and hiring company team drivers. The private carriers couldn't get enough people to sign on to those fleece purchase deals (After the rona was declared over). Several companies have started offering company driver jobs instead of the normal L/P they had for years.

From mid March of 2020-early to mid 2022. Drivers were making big money at 3rd part carriers because of Rona. And during that time period was the only times I've actually heard about anything good going on at GenOx. But since then its been back to normal.

Sleepers are team only. Regional work is done by Roll & Rest drivers. But normally you have to put in a bid for rest & roll. Its based of seniority, but usually you can get on it. If its a terminal where drivers want to be home everynight.

When I was at messer, the terminal manager was all about the bonus. And when my roll and rest daycab went down. I inquired about using the one sleeper we had, since it was only used once p/yr. But I was quickly told no. And it was explained that if I ran it solo, that would throw the gallons hauled percentage off for the terminal. So I ask how, and I was told because of the extra weight of the sleeper being pulled. That could be actual gallons of product pulled. I said #### your penny pinching for that EOY bonus huh. Then I got a weird look over the top of a set of glasses. So I just went home.

I have a feeling unless it's a single fuel tank. A sleeper without a Apu probably weighs close to a day cab. Since it's probably only a thousand extra pounds. But probably wrong

Our pay seems to be low compared to what you guys are making. Lol. Even in Texas it’s lower compared to what like Airgas promotes on indeed.

We’re not top pay anymore, even LTL outfits are making way more and not sure what AP is going to do, to keep it’s drivers from leaving.

Gotta say it's good to have gone all hourly.
Ours used to be fairly simple, hourly within 75 miles of plant and mileage past that.

Task pay seems like a lot of effort to make sure you get paid right and don't miss anything.
