Yes Genox is just awful, It’s definitely not a place for an experienced driver who already has established his name with the big 5. I made more money at two third party jobs as an employee.
Do not come here thinking that cryo experience will give you an advantage.

Can't remember if I ever said it. But I feel like I probably would still be at SPT if not for 2 reasons.

One trailers all actually had working gauges and pony motors

Two winter didn't screw things up. Meaning had to deal with tanks with too high pressure.

During summer time everything was fine. I known how to do everything. But winter screwed things up.

Everyone knows that hydrogen is dangerous so guys tend to respect it and take more caution around it. Meanwhile dudes don’t realize how any little petroleum product mixed with oxygen is very dangerous. Also if you get straight LOX on your clothes or gloves it will sit in the material for sometime before dissipating. LOX leaks also need to be taken very seriously especially around pumps.

ohhh. Why around pumps? I feel like I am not taking oxygen as serious as I should. When I started almost two years ago my trainer never mentioned anything about oil and oxygen. It wasn’t until almost a year later when I found out at new driver orientation.

I used to use my same old dirty nitrogen gloves on oxygen. Now I try to keep a clean pair just for oxygen. I also used to release all the oxygen in the hose after delivery through the drain valve in the truck that releases under the truck.

The fact that it took them a year to get you into a new driver orientation class speaks volumes.

They were backed up from the Covid years. Drivers coming in now are getting in right away.

The thing is that AP flys all new drivers out to their headquarters for a whole week.

    scythe08 Thanks this.

AP used to have which ever driver wanted to train, to train the new driver but now they’re training and certifying driver trainers. Which I don’t know why it wasn’t established a long time ago.

AP used to have a safety video that got my attention.
Soaked a flannel shirt in LOX and waited awhile and hit it with a match.
    It just disintegrated.
