Jesus that’s a good ROI on your retirement. That Prax Echicago plant always seems to lure me back lol. Lot product out of there. It does seem to get a little chilly there in January.

I pull AR out of that plant quite a bit.
After 50 years up north the weather is the least of my concerns. I spend more time trying not to be hit.

Hey Driver, that US company out of Houston, are they better than that Geno out of same city? Do you know any that have been at both?

    Hi guys.

Some of you have seen my posts. I'm hauling gas right now.

Last night, I put in an app for a roll and rest position with one of the local cryo majors. The one that has their own ASU near my house, and an auxiliary LAR storage down the street.

I got my initial phone interview today. Next step is phone interview with the local TM.

Can anyone who is currently on roll and rest tell me a bit more about it? Specifically, do you use every minute of your 70 hours every five days, then drive home and flop that wasted shell of yourself in the rack for 34 hours, then hit the road again?

Or, is the pace "slightly more reasonable" (65-68 hrs/week), and you don't get pinged repeatedly on the tablet if you're off for ten hours and five minutes.

I suppose it depends on which company, which I don't want to name just yet.

Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks!

I know of one guy that does it at AP. He starts Monday and rolls non stop until Friday when he goes home. So sometimes he’s close to his 70. Always stays at a hotel everyday. He keeps in touch with dispatch so that he’s always on a load. Keep in mind that we don’t have appointments to deliver product so we always take our time and if you’re doing your 10 at a hotel, there’s no rush to get back on the road as long as it’s at a reasonable time.

Yes U.S. Cryo doesn't have horror stories like GenOx. GenOx was so bad that Pam left there and started LGT Transport. U.S. CRYOGENICS was started up by some guys from Airgas. And is just ran better. And I know several drivers that have left GenOx, KAG/ CTI for U.S. Cryo or LGT.
