Took a quick look at the list Chinatown shared ... man I have more companies to consider! Freymiller, Vero and Abilene are worth a look.

Make sure you contact a recruiter at JR Schugel. The school I am attending starting next month was on their website as an approved CDL program. They were my number one after weeks and weeks of research. When I contacted the recruiter I found out the school has to be 240 hrs and that I wouldn't qualify for employment with them until I had at least three months experience. Luckily I found an even better company for my needs that is an hour from home.
Good luck. You're in the same boat as me. In my late 30s, have wanted to drive for years and have finally been given the blessing from my wife.MidwestResident and Lepton1 Thank this. -
The school I am looking at is 320 hours and is 8 weeks, one of the longest I think I have ever seen. It is nationally accredited, has a solid reputation in this area and is located about 10 minutes from my house. It was an easy and obvious choice for me.Lepton1 Thanks this.

I am assuming since you have the "79" in your username that is the year you were born, if so we are the same age as I was born in 79. Same as you, my wife gave me her blessing, she is ready for me to get out there right now ... LOL.

Wow, that is a lot of miles for a school.
Florida huh? I sense a future tanker yanker in the force. Good idea to get a year doing dry van or reefer before moving over to the land of milk and honey (and hazardous liquid chemicals).
Sounds like you have a good attitude. You should do fine. -
Then you'll be good with Schugel. My program is 200 hours and that kept me from being able to sign on. That is by far the longest I have seen for a program. Most of the programs around me are between 150-200 hrs. Yes, I was born in 79.
wfutch79 Thanks this. -
They will be getting a strong consideration. What type of fridge do they have? Is it the drawer type that I have seen or is it a regular mini-fridge like what you see in a hotel room?
-
Depends on the truck. The Volvo and freightliner have mini dorm/hotel style, the t680 has a drawer type. No clue about the Mack.wfutch79 Thanks this.
