It's different because with paper logs drivers would just rewrite their log book to get truck rolling and making money. You can't do that on ELDs, you will be forced to stop at 14 hours. You can't makup time anymore. Once you give up you time free time it gone. I think you will find companies and drivers can't afford that.

You don't think driver rewite their logs to avoid the 14 hour rule. If they don't then ELDs will have no effect since they are running legal.

Time will tell how people are running their trucks legal. I think a lot are doing whatever they feel like doing and HOS are second thought.

This is exactly why we need e-logs. This right here.

I'm at $84K earned so far this year as a W2 company driver with benefits. On electronic logs. And I work Monday - Friday, logging around 50 hours per week. That's 10 hours per day. Not 14. I lay over one night per week, by my own choosing. So I'm home every night but one each week.

If you can't do the same or better, then you're part of the problem that the e-log mandate will remedy.

Those who are capable of building a business know how to properly use punctuation. And know how to spell words. And don't use 'u' in place of the word 'you'. Just saying.
