Okay. But you guys need to take this time to start making some meaningful changes so you won't go through terrible withdrawals later. You can adapt but if you're running completely out of sensible ranges, then adjustment isn't going to be easy.

If you've been making money only because of miles volume and can't pull in more $'s per mile, then eLogs is going to be a real problem.

I agree. I have said it from the very beginning that elogs are going to make your good operators great and your bad operators go out of business. There won't be any cheating these systems

If it lasts very long at all. Personally I think its going to be a disaster on par with the genius idea they had for the 34 hour reset a few years back. That law got the ol concrete shoes in the bay treatment after repercussions hit.

AND, thats if it sticks around in its current form. UPS and a few other companies I can't recall off the top of my head are already petitioning for exemptions. Now the US House has exempted livestock and insect haulers in their draft of the DOT funding bill

DOT bill would nix state-mandated breaks for truckers, exempt livestock haulers from ELD mandate

That's because they're hauling sensitive freight.

So? Lots of freight is sensitive. And it doesn't exempt them from HOS, just ELD. That's what their beef is really with. UPS has a more valid reason for exemption from the ELD part of it
