I thought this was a follow up thread to one of the "Dog ate me log book" ; "Dog ate my elog" ; "Dog ate BOL's" ; "Dog ate my DOT card" ; "Dog ate the freight" threads.

when i first saw this on the news, i thought that the iron was left on.

but in my house, when ever we leave the house for any reason, the heat is turned OFF. in fact, we have to manually turn it on/off, as we NEVER ever had automatic heating thermostats or a/c's, and frankly we do not want it.

with the costs of heating a home, we'd be paying a lot of money each month, compared to peanuts for only using it, as we need it.

if they left the heat on ONLY for the dogs, that was foolish. the dogs would have NEVER frozen to death INSIDE a house.

    to me, DUMB owners.

my questions would be of the "will the insurance company pay"..??

i'd imagine that they would, it was an accidental fire.

but if the insurance adjusted wanted to be a dick, he could say the person leaving the ironing board that close to a turned on heating vent, caused it, and no payouts.

in other words, negligence on the homeowners part.
