In NYC my rand McNally was useless. And if you avoid the entire state of Connecticut you’ll be fine, you can spend 6 hours just trying to make it through the state.

im up here in the NE is a little wild. if you dont pay attention you might end up in a accident real quick. the worst part is the mergin of the traffic coming off i87 into the GW crossing too the upper level lane. other then that you will have a stressfull life because the traffic will eat all your hours. so if i was you i would probably stay at the 70k job, making 30k extra and getting into multiple accidents is not worth it. this is my last year cant wait to get out of this mess. im always cursing out everybody lol. you will become a outlaw up here cause you will always be in violation running out of hours in that #### cross bronx..

at least it's a little understandable in the northeast as your cramming a lot into a little bit of real estate. .... but what gets me is Laredo cramming every thing a little space that's surrounded by a million acres of scrub land

I used to haul construction/farm equipment and was one of the few drivers that did not mind running the NE. Dispatch would build loads going that way around my availability. Loved going as far out on LI as a truck can go and ALWAYS stopped in Kittery for some "chowda". I never did the Cross-Bronx during the day,but don't really have any horror stories about my runs up that way.

My 1st time running NYC, greener than green, had my cdl all of 3 weeks and I got lost deep in the back streets queens. Wouldn't of been much with a single screw and a pup but we did food service with 48s and 230wb cascadia's. Even with my trainer with me that put some hair on my chest. Going down these tiny streets with cars on both sides that'll make a driver right quick out of you lol

Or just hand in your man card

Edit: if you were talking only 10-15k more per year I'd agree with you and just stay down south. But we're talking an extra 30k a year, that's quite a jump in pay and a little extra hassle I'd be willing to put up with. I've been running the north east exclusively (mostly NYC metro and Boston metro and balt-dc areas) and I have 0 accidents and clean psp score. Just like running any big metro area in the south. No worse than ATL or Dallas

i love how everyone always compares the NE to LA,Chicago or Dallas, compare it to running down US 93 in NV and the NE is a pile of crap, comparing it to those other cities is like comparing Mcdonalds and Burger King.
