Not easy. I have set myself up pulling for a cpl carriers that have their own warehouses and inventory to supply their customers. 1 of which finds me return loads back to their warehouse. Some loads dont pay best but im not sitting in tstop looking on the boards at junk going south that keep you in the south with nothing going back north

There are alot of American companies that hire forign workers for tax benefits. Tesla out of Columbus Ohio hires all drivers on 1099. Their employess have no benefits the company doesnt pay unemployment insurance nor do they pay Employee SS tax or medical benefits . I would say those are tax breaks wouldnt you. That why they pull loads for 1.60mi they have very little overhead. 1099s drive down rates bigtimeTug Toy Thanks this.

He is probably talking about H-2b workers where companies can import essentially indentured servants who live in the truck and work for minimum wage.
Boy Wanders “I finally got my own truck” thread went off the rails a few weeks ago with a lot of talk about foreign drivers and its impact on rates in trucking. You can check his thread and go back a bit to catch up.
Also was a lot of talk about 1099 vs w2.
Edit: Finally got my own truck
Start there through the end. Very interesting back and forth conversation. -
I will check it,thanks. But see,the problem is that H2B visa workers CANNOT be imported to drive trucks as H2B is for seasonal jobs which trucking is not.
