Wheeler Trucking out of Michigan, you can do $100,000+ a year there as a company driver, and never get off the Green Stamp.

Ok thanks for clarifying. I actually am a truck driver that never goes on a toll road, go figure lol. All rural roads on my route.

The comparison comes from the pay. As I said some of these mega OTR companies only pay $80-$400 p/week. So instead of being in a Truck for 2-6 weeks at a time. Or maybe more because the driver can't afford to come home. Why not stay home and make the same pay?

Now typically that's what fast food pays per week. But there is retail and a few other jobs that pay $500 or less per week. So OTR needs to pay more to encourage someone to want to leave home and live in a truck for a week plus OTR.

However there are a number of local and OTR careers that pay 90k and up. You just have to know where too look for them. And nobody is gonna get that as a newbie to the industry. A job is temporary, but a career position is for 10 years plus.
