Yes, really. If you can't manage to average $2/mile for all miles, then you're slowly going broke. Especially pulling a reefer.

I love these posts and topics, they make laugh..... I will gross $750,000 on 30456 miles this year....

windsmith Thanks this. -
When I've got 12 years under my belt like you have, I hope to be at the same level
I'm at 6 months with my CDL.

I ran 123,000 miles in my first year ended Nov1st. Paid hourly, home weekends and try to be in my own bed thursday night but not always possible if I was wide. I was hung out over the weekend four times and all but one was planned. I earned 57.6 cpm if you want to calculate by all miles. Had two weeks paid holidays. I averaged 6 mpg, my truck is new, they got me 4 trailer tires, my truck greased every 15k and oil change every 30k . Thats it for maintenance other than an alternator under warranty I sure hope my company grossed over $375k for my year of work
My personal expenses on the road averaged $51/ week so I was still able to bank some cash after taxes..
I'm always curious as to how much of that 200k gross of the OP ended up in the bank at year end as that is the true acid test! -
Irv...I think you are likely stretching the truth just a little. But for sake of arguement, if your not, you certainly shouldn't be telling anyone else. you either don't want the competition, or don't need police scrutiny. If you did that trucking, 24 bucks a mile should be kept secret and is likely illegal. I know guys who got busted hauling drugs and illegal aliens who didnt make that much.

Its sarcasm Mr Ed, Just laughing at Windsmith's alleged numbers with only 6 months total trucking experience...
mslashbar Thanks this. -
So you laugh at $2/mile as a minimum rate for an O/O? You think that's too high? If so, then you're the reason for the low rates we've been seeing lately. And if you dismiss someone's opinions simply because they haven't been doing what you've been doing for as long as you have, then I'd say that you're quite myopic. I know that's a big word for you, so look it up before you respond.
