I'm happy to post I have been a recipient of this year's flu and survived.

Your in for about 10 days of under the weather, with 2 being this sucks, and about 4 of total misery.

I get a flu shot every year, no matter what anyone says.

I know that I can still GET the flu, but this shot will lessen it considerably.

I had pneumonia when I was younger and from that point on and what I went thru and some damage it did, it was HIGHLY recommended I get all shots.

    good to hear you survived.

    Jazz1 and cybill234 Thank this.

TB, Broncital damage evident on my scans require I get a flu shot and TB tests every so often.

My state has it bad, however when you go to church or assemble with other people you always hear two or three cough up a lung with that classic im infectious sick cough. I don't even want to be around.

The last few years the shots were not on the mark and I caught a week or less of trouble last three years running. Im hoping immunity has settled this year.

I did not get sick often on the road, maybe a handful of times, and dispatch has more than been accomodating when they find out I am sick in that sleeper. Takes me a week before I can drive 10 miles again... Not to mention the instinct to get home with the empty truck fuel and all, however far it is. Company endured those costs as part of the losses.

It is a challenge to bounce back and GET loaded and rolling. No excuses once that fever breaks good.

I got a nasty flu when I was in Montana 3 weeks ago. Jesus Christ I had the shivers and the works. Still fought it and drove. Mind over matter. Some DayQuil, cough drops, and a hot tea and let's roll!

I had a buddy nearly pass out while driving. he moved over to the shoulder before he did. then bang...passed out.

he was feeling sick, drank lots of Gatorade to keep fluids in him.

no one knew if the Gatorade just wasn't the right fluid to be drinking at the time, over say ordinary oj or other fruit juices and water.

can't say for sure if Gatorade has a high level of electrolytes?
