well, i figured out why I get all the reefer failures.
you're supposed to write down the reefer temps at each stop. And of course it should vary (even if it works) between about +3 and -10 with occasional defrost cycles in there. If you have a bunch of stops in a row, of course it doesn't have enough time to recover and it's hotter.
so I picked up some other packets that have been turned in.
and it just says -9, -9, -9, -9
tons of them like that.
the other worthless drivers aren't even looking at it, they are just filling it out in the truck. And jsut flipping it off (or not) when they go to unload. Of course, there are probably a few guys like me who look and we are getting all teh failures because it was broken long before.
who wants to work with people like that? I told management (who is failing too since they obviously aren't checking the data, what's the point of writing it down if you aren't going to use it?) and pretty much got the blowoff.
1 more week to get rest of signing bonus.

Today at work actually wasn't a bad day got home earlier then I had been getting home which was nice, because I have things to do, that can't always be done on the weekend.
At any rate though, had kind of a crappy backing day. Some days I can do alright backing and other days not so much. Oh well it's just the way it goes I guess. -
Some days that beast simply won't cooperate
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
My last stop today I was square in the dock square enough and the trailer was to close into the dock and the dock plate wouldn't go up into the trailer. It didn't much matter because were floor loaded anyway and the stuff comes off with a wheeler anyhow. So I said of forget it and just wheeled the stuff off with out the dock plate really didn't slow me down that much.
However on the plus side of things last week I was in the top of our branch for drivers with a good XATA score, I had a 90 or above.
Backing I'm not great at it, I mean I can do what I need to do, and at my regular stops it's not a big deal because I know what I need to do to do those. It's all in a days work I think at the end of the day the company goes well the truck and driver came back in one piece the trailer is empty and the stops were delivered. That automatically makes that day for that route a smashing success. -
all i have to say is that those Mexican Bus companies (you know that come and go, have parts flying off, occasionally flip over and kill 16 people and get shut down by FMSCSA and then reopen next door?) Those companies look down on MBM trucks.
that's really all I have to say.TheDudeAbides Thanks this. -
what's a XATA score?
-
XATA is our version of Qualcom kind of. It has our route on it meaning our stop line up.
It also monitors our truck i.e. hard breaking, rpm, average speed, how long the truck sits, where the truck is and what stop it is at that kind of thing. Monitors our driving and all our vitals.
Any how XATA collects statistics on the way you drive and say you have a bunch of hard breaks it dings you for that and then they print all the statistics out and you get to see how good you're driving. If you're shifting at 1500-1600 RPM and not jamming on the breaks and not driving around over the governor, then you're score goes up and basically the higher the score numbers in the 90s then that means you're driving well. I was in the 90s this week so that means I was driving well. It's all safety related stuff and right now the company is having an internal contest to see who can have a good XATA score. -
What's all that graffiti on your reefer in ur 'tar

It's an older trailer that GFS had 10+ years ago down at a food show they did in Indiana and Western, Ohio and they let the sales reps and customers write there sayings and little ism's all over the trailer. That trailer is an older one and I haven't seen it for a while until last week when it popped up again. I thought it odd that we had this trailer with all this graffiti on it. In fact I thought for a minute that the students at Wabash, Indiana High School graffitied it all up because all over the place it says Wabash City Schools.
I guess the company bought 26 or 28 brand new Great Dane 28' Dual Temps for the new warehouse in Pennsylvania, because for a while we had all the old logo GFS trailers and still have mostly old logo stuff, but just recently a couple new logo 28' made it out our way.lagbrosdetmi Thanks this. -
