Automated trucks will NEVER replace local delivery guys. At least not in any of our lifetimes. Now linehaul and some terminal-to-terminal OTR might be another matter. But that's still a very long way away for it to affect the majority of drivers.

 

I’ve been eyeing UNFI as a potential place to jump to since they seem to have it easiest among foodservice companies with their liftgates and electric jacks. Well a position finally opened up in my area...but it’s advertised as paying $21.25/hr, working an average of 42-45 hours a week. As nice as it would be to not have to hand unload the entire trailer and eliminate running down ramps, I just can’t justify taking a $5/hr pay cut to do it. I’m starting to understand why I see so many guys who have worked here for decades despite constantly moaning and complaining about everything.

 

Yep hard to leave and when they do it's usually after the kids are out of the house or the big fancy house gets sold and a more modest one is bought.

 

Im curious to know what food truck company delivers to strip clubs. If so what time do you guys deliver.

 

When I did beer we did early afternoon noon but your strip club day was also your gay bar day do kinda hard to get real excited about the day lol

 

I didn’t even know there are strip clubs that serve food.

 

@jmz yes indeed, they have a buffet.

 

I watched one of those guys trying to back into a deeply snow covered lot at some little health food store in some small town one day. Completely missed the driveway and had the whole road blocked. It wasn’t looking good, so I grabbed my shovel and a couple bags of salt and helped him out

There was a driver that stayed at the same hotel as me off and on. He seemed happy.

 

Local one here offers a box lunch.

 

Box lunch the ones here by me serve steak.
