well, it sounds like a great job, honestly not that hard (not even lift gates, you back into docks and deliver grocery stores)
but it's average 12 to 14 hour days, and it's 45 minutes from my house
that's a 14 to 16 hour day, day after day
I can't do it, maybe when I was 25, but not now. I'm going to have to turn it down.
I sadMike2633 Thanks this. -
My mom said that earlier this week, she went geeze I was stressing about Monday and here it is were already on Wednesday. -
I just made it thru both days of my route with no snow! First time this year, I think. Took some of the sting out of the 2.5 hour wait at my first stop, since they neglected to leave me a new key.

Hello Truckers Report what's going on guys?
Oh same stuff around here, I'm tired and have to go to sleep I took a 3 hour nap this afternoon which I can't take like a power nap usually when I'm out it's like that and then that just makes me tired and groggy the rest of the day, but that's all cool and stuff. This weeks been okay, but defiantly not in the top 10 I know it's been a little quiet here on the food service rant thread. Well that's pretty much because there hasn't been a whole lot to write home about especially this week, not that it's been that awful really, but you know typical stuff today everything went off fine, but stupid stuff stupid people and stuff in my way, you know how it all goes.
Had 20,000lbs yesterday actually I got it off pretty good got back about 3pm which wasn't awful. Monday was kind of stupid, too, but what ever it worked. Actually my Monday while it's down town there first few stops aren't anything I'm super hot for, but after that the day can get easier and usually it's over before I know it. I'll tell you what though after Tuesday the week just flys Wed-Friday go 1-2-3.
Hopefully cowboy gets a new job soon and can ad to the fun over here ha-ha!Badcable Thanks this. -
I had all my stops this last route, for the first time since January. Only because spring break has what is normally my biggest store cut in half. It's usually 350-400 cases, and they barely got 200. I'm sure I'll pay for that on Friday, especially with March madness starting.
There's one stop I haven't been to in a month, since before MDOT put up seasonal weight restrictions, and I discovered that half of the state highway I travel to get there I shouldn't be on. The sign is kinda past the point of no return, so I crossed my fingers and snuck through. I know, I should've checked the map, but there are only a handful of state roads in Michigan that have spring weight restrictions. I wouldn't expect the highway between two cities to be one of them. I won't have to worry about it much longer, but if I go back Friday I'll for sure have to make a half hour detour. When MDOT makes a revision, it usually takes effect on a Monday.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
350-400 that's hospital quantities that's a quarter if not more of the truck right there. I know for us that would be almost 1/3 of the days load if not half.
-
Oh, I've thrown over half my load at my first two stops before. Over 800 cases and 20,000 lbs. It feels pretty good when you're done, pulling out of that first stop 12k lighter.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
