Hey guys what's up? Today was an alright day. Took me a little while at the end, but it all went. Trailer was loaded a little shaky for the first few stops I was missing a case of bacon and at 11:30am I got a call from one of our Ashtabula, Drop Lot drivers turns out he had my case of bacon. Which was good because I don't need another 23 code I seem to average one for every 6,100 cases delivered and I just had one on Friday and I don't really care for that. For a while there past couple weeks I was having no returns or 23 codes. However today I had some returns on some wears had a customer get sent the wrong pot and pan holder and another the wrong lid so all that went back. Ehh it happens.
Tomorrow I have a pretty full day a head of me.They wanted to give me help, but were all out of people so I'm on my own I can deal.
Got my travel itinerary for next week I ship out Sunday to Maryland so will have a special edition of Live on Location in the nations capital. So stay tuned for all the fast paced food service action that you can handle live from our nations capital.
I tell you what OTR drivers might have one stop or two stops in an area there not familiar with and in a big truck like they drive that's plenty, but in our work final mile delivery we have 10-15 stops in area's. Next week should be fun though, if any of you are out that way next week be sure to wave and say hello.Pintlehook Thanks this. -
Oh boy long day at the office today. 20 stops 17,000+lbs and 777 cases and a back haul. Got to work at 3:40 then heard my trailer wouldn't be in till 5:00am. So I had some quality head on the steering wheel time for an hour. Got hooked up and all that jazz and headed out. I was covering a route today another driver was on vacation a couple customers who were deliberately unhappy for no real reason, but to bad.
Actually I thought I ripped through it all pretty good my self. 20 stops is pretty time consuming. -
20 stops that's a pretty good day....... I always say it's not the cases it's the stops.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Some of the stops were small, but that 20 will take you all day I've had bigger cases days that took less time simply because I didn't have as many stops. Drove 92 miles to boot so all that driving in between that ads up time wise little by little over the day no wonder I was leaving work at 5pm.

Cake route for me today 8 stops 550 cases.... got soaked from a freak thunder storm so I lost all motivation for the day but the day wasn't a total loss got two hours of overtime and got fed.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I got minorly B-I-T-finish the rest at by customers today because I wasn't the "regular guy" oh well they will live.
I didn't get fed...although one golf course gave me a glass of water. No rain here the grass is brown and crunchy. -
One of the bosses called me today about 12:30 made sure I hadn't hung my self yet LOL! I know US Foods from what I heard lets you go and then they don't call or send help or anything. They don't really call us really, but if it's a big 20 stop day and your swinging like I was today that's a little different story. They weren't calling to tell me to go faster, it wasn't like that. Actually I thought I did pretty good personally LOL!

Yep bout the only time the send help is to get the truck when you run outa time... till recently they have been getting a lot better about not letting you run out of your time. We are a drop lot and have a good group of guys working down here so we look out for on another
