So far all is well here, I had a bit of a spat on Saturday with an arrogant dispatcher. Whom got short, yelled at me, said some disrespectful things and charged us with a late load that wasn't our fault. When my dispatcher come in and I told him what happened he was very quick to fix the issue. He told us we have been doing great and there was no reason for the behavior or the load charge. He removed it. Very unamused with the events still, but I guess some people are just sobs.
Moving on, we got nearly 6k miles last week. We are sitting on a 2000 mile load to pick up tomorrow. We were involved in an accident on Saturday, someone was way too close to us when they moved to swing out for a backing position and clocked our front end with their lift gate. We took medium amounts of damage to the grill, scratches to the bumper, a gouge on the bumper, and some minor radiator damage. It appears Gainey is going to get the damage repaired, once the insurance processes the claim. Which will be a first, usually if the truck can run, they don't care about fixing it...
I care about fixing it it looks TERRIBLE.

I hear you!
I had a Kamikaze deer attack me yesterday. The truck is being repaired now and will hopefully be done tonight or tomorrow. He took out the headlight assembly as well as part of the bumper and fender... -
About 2 weeks ago, during my driving time which is the night shift(12-10) I noticed like a herd of 5-8 deer running straight toward the road... I was like omg you better not!
They turned at the last minute to go alongside with the road but #### that woulda sucked.
We are on hometime now, enjoying our new found bounty. We won't be off long this month just a day or so, we plan to take our full time off next time we come home when we've caught up all our bills. We are almost all caught up. Next time we come home Argosz is going into remedial training for tactical truck training, and the training of a new guard command.
We ran a total of 4800 miles last week. We start off again Monday, already have load. -
Glad things are working out for you!
I had another attack the truck last night in Iowa. Ran into the side, only broke a small piece of the fairing. Luckily I was only doing about 50 when I saw him and slowed down and moved over. They are so stupid!
I felt bad at this one, he was still alive. A cop came and stayed by the road near him and I saw him trying to get up. I left after that. I hope he is OK, or someone stopped the suffering.
We are in W. Memphis now doing a reset or we would run out of hours on Tuesday. This way we can hopefully get a good load out tomorrow, but then I need to be home Thursday night. -
I hate when they are still alive, ugh. The deer I hit a few days ago wasn't alive thank god lol. But I didn't ACTUALLY hit that deer, the truck I was passing hit him, and he threw it into my lane and then I just ran it over as there was no way to avoid it. It was a buck too with antlers, I was worried the antlers would pierce the tires, but nope all good. It was clearly dead when it rolled in front of me, a good portion of its back end was gone. The truck that hit it though wow, he got messed up with deer goo all in his engine tore a a good size rip in his grill and tore a the light and spot mirror off.
We are waiting for the truck to get repaired and pmed. We kept smelling a strong antifreeze smell so we are thinking its going to need a new radiator. Hoping they also fix the grill that was screwed up in the accident, and the APU heater which is not working. Aside from that the truck runs great. I refuse to wash it till the accident damage is somewhat repaired cause it will just make it look worse all clean with a bent up grill and torn center piece. We? You teaming too? Well I guess you'd have to be for Fedex eh? -
Yes, we are a team also. Sitting in Memphis now. Did a reset and should be leaving soon.
Maybe we will be in the same town and get to actually meet. LOL!
Be safe -
This week has been sucky so far, we had a load assigned last week when we went off for the weekend. We came back, got truck worked on, headed out to pick it up. Get there at shipper, load is canceled...
Ok... go eat, come back get told head north, we have another load. Get preplan, head north, gets real late, still load is just preplan... stop go to sleep, wait wait wait, around 9 am get new message, head north east, we have another load, get load sent, doesnt pick up till late, so we stopped did laundry, ate, slept some (less then we should have >.>) and then headed the rest of the way to pickup. All in all like 800 miles dead head...
Pickup load, its hot hot hot, busted ### with both of us tired and cranky as #### (see... one of us really SHOULD have been sleeping when we were doing laundry...), get there with 3 minutes to spare... get new load, no empty trailers, wait wait wait for location on one... decided to go eat, come back, got empty, started headed up to empty get told stop hold on changing dispatch load is removed...
-.-
Wait wait wait wait, get new load, picks up right where we dropped off (did I mention we went 30 miles already toward other load), turn around, get empty assigned out of place we just delivered too (that swore up and down they had no empties 3 hours ago...) get the empty, now seated at shipper waiting for load to be done.
...
To boot this is another run hard as #### load and you still might not make it on time, and the load after it is too, if they manage to keep that load on us till we get there... and they BOTH go to sucky places... -
The loads are always HOT! Gotta have it right away, then when you get there, it takes hours to unload you. LOL!
Well we are in Dallas now waiting for a load home. I have to shoot a wedding Saturday morning and the dispatcher at this terminal said it is going to be awhile. So here I sit bugging out, hoping I make it in time... -
Yup same deal, sitting in TX waiting on a load. Ugh.
Last week sucked, 1777 miles, but to be fair we were off till Monday, and we started in TX and that is a bad place to start a week.
DOH.
Hope this weeks better! -
Well this week started bad, we got 2 34 hour restarts, but dispatcher was trying hard to get us a load, seems like loads just dried up Sunday and Monday in the area we were. We were not the only team or only co. sitting around twiddling our thumbs.
We finally got a load Tuesday, picked it up, and will have it dropped this afternoon, already preplanned on a load going north west (oh boy) which delivers friday but we plan to deliver it tomorrow evening.
Last week sucked, again due to us going home for a few days. 1777 miles. Yech.
Oh well, happens every once in a while.
In other news Gainey's sale to another co. has been approved. The co. they were sold to is out of WI, no not SNI, and they plan to pay all debt owed off, and infuse money into the company to grow it. Which could mean new trailers! YAY!
All employees, including Mr. Gainey, will remain in their current positions. I hope nothing changes, because so far I love this company and I really am hoping this is good for Gainey, cause whats good for Gainey is good for the drivers.
