That is not bad. You have a set schedule, decent home time, and out long enough to make some money. 14/7 is a lot better than national or regional in my opinion.

The main problem for me is not hometime since I am single. I also don't care about a set schedule; I do care about the where I go because I have kids and grandkids all over the country. The recruiter said I probably would not be going to the states where they live since most are out West and Oklahoma. So, Roehl is probably not a good choice for me.

Ran from Lebanon,IN to Ellenwood,GA 592 miles to relay the load then 98 miles home from there. I was one tried S.O.B last night, but finally home and made it for my son's first football game of the year.

Hahaha, It definitely wasn't me that passed you. Not at 80 anyway. I'm still in a company truck and I was going in the opposite direction. I always try to catch the truck numbers just to see if I recognize any of them. Glad you made it home. I'm 98.6% sure that I'm going to sign the lease at in the beginning of October. I found out that the truck I would get is my old trainer's truck and he had it from day 1. It's nice to have some insight as to what it's been through, what kind of MPG it gets, etc... I've actually taken it for a 2 week test drive!

Good luck with the lease, have a good business plan, that will help alot. Preacher would be a good guy to talk to also. The more I read about some of the lease plans at other companies, I see that the one at Roehl is not that bad. I guess it is a trade off between lease terms and cpm... I guess I am going to remain a steering wheel holder, I was an O/O with my own authority for several years, and I got my fill.

I would recommend a company lease for only two reasons. First if you're not sure and want a way to walk away. The other is that past dings in the credit keep you from third party options. In my case I fit both of these reasons. Make sure you read the lease and understand it. If you do a lease through Roehl you will be signing two separate leases. The first is an agreement to lease (rent) a truck from Roehl. The second is an agreement to franchise your business with Roehl. These are independent of each other. This distinction often gets lost in the complexities of running a business. One thing that many don't understand is that you don't get to break their toy, give it back broken and walk away. Whatever happens to the truck while you are leasing is your responsibility. If you return the truck, it is specified what it must look like and run like.

I would recommend going to Freightliner and get them to do an oil analysis. I would not recommend Speedco, theirs is unreliable, the dealership will send it off and it will take a couple of weeks, but it will be a lot more detailed. If there are problems with the engine it should show up. The cost is about $30.00.

yea all in all its not bad, but like with any business "per say" its a gamble, but ultimately it pays off in the end if you do not need the perks being a company driver have such as 401k and health insurance, etc. and be prepared for checks "up sidedown" cause it happens. lol
