Big part of the problem Carl. His truck is in tough shape, big time miss mamagement of money before I took over. So now its play catch up and it maybe to late. Sometime wonder how he made it this far LOL. Not nice to say hes my boss but just gotta wonder. I have brought him a long ways in a few months and its a hit that I sure wasn't expecting. But not much I can do other than hope I can move on. I realy don't know how you guys do it, as I have said I love the trucking world but dang its tough out there. Couldn't do it myself. I have learned a lot and love it so hoping I can find something else to keep me in it should things not work out.

If you watch and feel your tires they can be saved before they are junk, but you have to watch them. I see so many owner operators getting fuel and never even once look at their tires. They will not know there is a problem until it is to late. Before you start making foolish statements you need to go get an education on what SHOCK ABSORBERS actually do. They don't hold the suspension at any angle nor any height. They do what their name emplies, absorb shock. They keep the tires from bouncing so that the operator can comfortably maintain control of the vehicle, which in turn will prolong the life of not only the tire but the entire suspension. There, now you don't need to go get an education because I just gave you one.

One of those new recaps I recently bought has a knot in it that is difficult to see but you can feel it rubbing your hand over the tire.. Going to pull it and the other one off and get them spun to see what they look like, maybe they or one of them is waaay out of balance or round, I might even have a bent rim. I think it's better to check that before messing with bushings.. ..I just have a hard time believing at this point a 2006 trailer already has worn out suspension bushings those should normally be 10 year components..

I would think if it was bushings it would have come on gradual and slowly gotten worse over time. If you can feel a knot in the tire I would say that is your problem, if you spin balance it on a machine I bet that tire will need ALOT of weight on one side.

You know something Oscar... It did start out gradual and has gotten progessively worse.. I talk to my buddies and one said the same thing you did, the progressivly getting worse seems like bushings. And another one is sure it's the recaps.. man I dunno..

kw9, sorry for jackin your thread lol

I had a trailer once that would shake like mad, it would come on nice and easy and get down right nasty, then go away. It would just fade in and fade out, turned out to be one tire with a busted belt.

Rollin, make sure that the leveling valve is at the right hight. My valve on my truck was not right, about 1" to high and it would bouce pretty bad and I thought I had a bad tire or a bent rim. Once I figured out the bar that connected the leveler to the axle was bent and replaced it ($5) and set it to factory spec ride height, it glides smooth as can be.

A real bumper takes care of Bambi just fine....no need for a moose bar. I hit 2 deer last year...55 mph both times. Total for both repairs combined came out to less than $20.

Rollin, after we spoke this morning I sent a message to trailer guy and said you should be having issues with more than just one tire on that side if it was bushings. And also said it sounded like a tire issue. They are a service center for a fleet in the area that has 100% Utilities and service manager said they have not replaced any bushings on the 200+ Utilities that are '04-'06.
