I dislike hugh for a number of reasons and his inability to keep a proper log shows hes in it for a competition. He should know after 20+ years how to log properly. No excuse and I wish he would have gotten fired. I think Jack, George and Lisa and many times better than Hugh. Finally, Alex needs to learn this is not a competition between others, it is road that demands skill and precise maneuvers. The drama gets boring after a while.

Alaska has different rules than both.
After you have been driving for a little bit, let us know if you ever f/u the log book.
My experience in the safety world, was the longer the driver had been driving, the more likely they were to have errors. Carelessness and over confidence is rampant. -
$1300 for a one way trip???? More if you have a back haul of any thing more than an empty trailer.....
Yeah I could do it, but I'll betcha I would chain up more than some of those guys do. -
Your co driver is absolutely right about the road being the most slippery in the first half hour of rain. All the oils on the road from all the vehicles is sitting on top of the rain water on the road, after it has been raining for a while the majority of it has run off the road or been moved by the traffic.Last edited: Aug 6, 2009

Raezzor, you got it....

Roadmedic, I am still learning and was unaware that Alaska possesses different rules for logging. I appreciate you bringing to my attention so that I may research the proper HOS for Alaska.

NO, she is WRONG. It was not raining enough for the ground to be wet. NOTHING was being washed off. It's the first half hour of ACTUAL rain that is ACTUALLY capable of getting the ground wet that would do this. Besides that, I'm surprised she's still driving. Total idiot. She also went down the cabbage patch in 10th gear at about 75mph, dragging the brakes all the way down with smoke pouring off them, etc.... -
I wasn`t commenting on your situation at that precise time but on the fact that what she was saying was absolutely true.
So here I stand with head humbly bowed being dually chastised by a 22 year old with 1 year experience.Sweetie I have been driving truck for as long as you have been alive and was out here running my own truck when there wasn`t that many women out here driving. I have more then paid my DUES!

by the way, i like that you've been a female OO for that long.
But ok, i know its true. I learned that when i learned how to drive a car. the point was, that girl seriously would have counted 30 minutes of drizzling-not-enough-to-make-the-road-wet as that 30 minutes. If it actually did that long, it probably would be enough to make the road slippery, but its going to take a lot longer than 30 minutes for it to wash anything off the road, know what i mean?
