For a time I ran I-80 across WY several times a week. When they open the gates back up after a road closure they have HP cruiser run the front door for the next 50-100 miles at 35 mph to control the chaos. I kept a scanner in my truck tuned to WHP frequency and could usually be at the gates as they were opening them. They talk about it and usually you could have 15 minutes warning that it was about time to boogie.I could go through the gate as the trooper was walking back to his car and avoid being part of the parade. Timing is everything.

    Interesting.

The CAT Loader I am familiar with had a wheel and a pair of sticks, one for the transmission and the other to mind the bucket. Cannot get much simpler than that. Why so many?

Well he's talking about a grader. Is that Cat loader the 936 with a 7 yard bucket?

Eh, close if you take a really BIG scoop which drives the boss nuts because those 3 inch thick bolts are not exactly subtle dental work on the scoop blade teeth. It's 6 yards by the factory manual. But Boss wants it ALL usually running down the sides.

That would be the biggest bucket I've ever seen on a 936 they must have cobbled that together.

It was a 936. And it was a 6 yarder. I don't know if they allowed for heaping loads into it the way we did feeding a ready mix.

It was such FUN FUN FUN. I was spend 14 hours in the heat of day with that thing, no air, grease it, give it a drink of fuel, scrape up the rocks around the piles and so on. PLAYTIME. Best time of my working life.

Should have gone into that kind of work like young. But where I come from NO one hires a 21 year old for that kind of equipment. The ready mix was packed up and moved some distance south and west when all the subdivision housing got poured. There was no more multihundred yard orders anymore to justify keeping that mix plant there. Fortunately it was on wheels, batch trailer and all. Pack it up haul it. And reopen for business.

I don't think they make 936's anymore. They are rather little compared to what CAT is making today. I would not mind having a go in some of the newer machinery. Give me about 10 minutes to work out the rusties before moving that rock.

    Long story short

Wannabe super trucka triple six sat in a truck stop for a day and a half because snow is scary apparently ,but came on here to talk #### on everyone else for not beating him out of bed after the snow cleared and he found his nuts again.

    Thats some irony there.

LOL, you have no clue. No he sat in the truck stop for a day and a half because it was much cheaper than the fine for running an oversized load in inclement weather.

TripleSix, G13Tomcat and sawmill Thank this.
