I originally bought a plane ticket but due to rescheduling and the non refundable nature of that ticket I had to eat the cost of it. I ended up on the dog and it was 38hrs from Delaware...Take the plane.

Amtrack is a great way to travel, especially if you spring for the deluxe sleeper accommadations.

just happy there was a barcar lol

I was sent an email saying that the orientation is aug 5th. That is a Sunday. Do they start orientations on Sunday?
I need to know then when to actually get there which I would think would be on a Saturday. -
I think I will put most of my junk in a box and mail it to the hotel a week before I get there that way I dont have to bring all this on the plane. Is that do-able?
I figure it will cost around $60.00 to ship, but if I send it on the plane they will charge me at least $100.00 for the extra baggage. -
yes orientation begins on sunday.
I would only bring what you can fit in one bag and a carry on, anymore is too much. -
Well my thinking was
sleeping bag
pillow
stuff like that that will not go in my clothes bag
I will be going straight from orientation to a trainer for 5 weeks and won't have time to go get this stuff. -
I flew, with a large duffle bag, that included my bed roll, and a carry on. Just think about you will be sleeping with what ever you bring, on the top bunk, or moving it every day to the jump seat. Most trainers trucks don't have the room for your stuff too.Rif Raf McQ Thanks this.

hotel will NOT accept mail or packages for drivers at all if thats what you meant
-
People regularly send additional luggage ahead by UPS or FedEx. Motel or hotel will accept if you contact them ahead of time and have a reservation. Or send it to the orientation center and let them know it coming.
Rif Raf McQ Thanks this.
