Maybe so. But at this point, many of the ones that bought up all of the TP and hand sanitizer will not have the money to buy up a lot of meat. Or a place to keep it.

Just for comparison, current market rates from NY. Feeder pig rates are slowly coming back up. With dairy tanking, should be plenty of hamburger coming on deck...

Ordered a triple at the drive thru at my local Wendy's. They told me they were not selling triples at this time due to meat shortage. Shook my head, rolled my eyes and ordered two doubles.

I just saw a fb post. Some pork farmer in SD is selling his pigs for $85 a pop. 3-400lbers! Said you must pick up and process. He can't find anyone to do it which is why he's selling

Might be breeding sows, normal market weight for feeders is 225-250#'s. Hogs aren't hard to butcher at all and they don't have to hang like beef. Years ago, most were scalded & scraped. Now, most are just skinned. At that price, he's just trying to recoup some of his losses, too bad...650cat425 and tommymonza Thank this.
