The Mountain picture thread

looking at the east side of the sierra-nevada mountains from us395 in lone pine, ca


at the little america flagstaff after the december storm that dumped 15 inches of snow.

 

I remember that storm. I rolled thru there the day after. I stopped at the Pilot west of Flag that still wasn't plowed for some McDonalds and I wasn't sure if I was gonna get outta the parking lot.

 

when i rolled into there, i made my usual u-turn in the middle and almost got stuck. i popped the axle differential and stepped on it, causing an interior avalanche. no more than 2 minutes pass and another truck tried, and got stuck. a few ended up getting stuck in the center of the overflow lot. the regular lot, however, was plowed. i dunno why they decided to ignore the overflow...########.

i had many, many more sweet pics of snow capped mountains. unfortunately my first laptop's hard-drive crashed, and i lost everything. a data recovery wasn't possible.

 

taken yesterday morning while traveling southbound on us97. yes, it's another pic of mt. shasta. it was too awesome to have ignored.
