I'm a recent driving school grad from DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa. I completed the course on July 29, 2012 and originally signed with West Side Transport. After orientation, and four weeks out with a trainer, I found the entire experience with this company unsettling. The phrase "whatever it takes to get a body" comes to mind. Lack of communication, uncertainty, indecision and secrecy seemed to be the core principles here. Needless to say, I am looking for something different. I am curious to see what good advice others here at the Truckers Report have to say about seeking out a new employer. I have looked through countless companies trying to really sort out the ones who really offer what they say. I'm looking for a home daily job, or at least home more than just weekends. I live in Marshalltown, Iowa. I am willing to drive an hour to and from another city if need be to get to work. I really want to hear from veterans of the road, and would love any advice on the "Best of the best" to work for in my area. Thanks to all!

If in Iowa see what ag companies are running hopper bottoms to feed mills . You can also check food service companies like Sysco and beer and soft drink distributors . Try searching on Monster.com
