Well.......
Me and my fellow FFE peoples are done with the school and all have Texas CDL's. Out of a class of around 24, we graduated 18. The ones that left, left of their own volition. We have one who is still testing Monday, but un-forseen events threw her behind. Good percentage. And from personal experience, THIS IS NOT A DRIVER MILL. It is an accelerated course that takes up 10 to 11 hours each day, every day for 16 straight days! It is still a new school, and they are working out some bugs here and there, but, it gets handled. I am at the terminal now in Lancaster, and have my "trainer". He is from my home state and seems like a person I will have no problem with. He and I are just 2 outlaw truckers who are trying to conform with the new era of driving. NOW IS THE TIME TO BECOME A DRIVER! If you are researching FFE or driving, become familiar with the CSA 2010, and get a Texas CDL handbook and READ it.
If you come to the academy, make sure you have $300 to be comfortable. I came with less, but I'm cool with that. I don't require much. FFE has a great new academy. Be patient with the newness, be serious and open, and you will do great! Spat? Playmaker? Whats up my brothas?"][/FONT]

I AM HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS, CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE THAT MADE IT!!!! as for me, im trying to get out there by next thursday; i cant wait!
-
maybe that school will help them improve their safety record !!!!

Tryzguy is on point. If your not a moron, trying to hide something (They WILL find it)can scrape together 3-400 bucks, and not a crybaby you will be very happy. LISTEN to your instructors, they have a wealth of knowledge.
Im at the Landcster terminal now with my trainer (Playmakers trainer) waiting on a minor repair. Trainees are rolling out one by one from our class. Tryzguy just rolled out a few hours ago. By Monday I think the entire class will be on the road. I believe we caught them off-guard with the number of students that passed. This caused some brief confusion on Fri but now everything looks to be as promised.
The biggest challange through this process has been honing my BS filter. The old drivers hanging around the terminal seem bitter and grumpy. They complain about everything, and I have watched 3 old timers loading bags into a 4 wheeler.
If your looking to get into this industry, I think this is the best way IMO.THE PLAYMAKER Thanks this. -
thats not true there are some grumpy old timers at the term but 99%are helpful and nice and like with any new job u just have to put up with the bs but they will work with u if u get a good fm. who was ur trainer
-
Point takin, a FEW grumpy old timers. Most are very helpful and nice, but the few that are grumpy voice there opinion LOUDLY!

Spat you got a great trainer. Slap him for me....lol. To the guys and gals at the yard who saw the old grumpy farts complaining. Their are the same ones there all the time. They complain about the sky being blue. That's why I try never to go to yard. Look at the bright side at least we have a job to complain about not like alot of other people in the U.S. Be safe and tell Tim he is a big DOUCHE NOZZLE....lol
