What would be the case with FFE, if you had a PTX Endorsed Class A, but haven't driven in awhile (like since I got out of school 3 years ago)?
I'd suspect you wouldn't need to get a Texas permit and test in Texas, if you already had a Class A?
Was thinking of buying a Tractor and leasing on with a friend down here -=- but OTOH, if I decide to delay that and just go company driver for a year or two (which would require relocating to Ga or Tn most likely), FFE is right on top of my list of "training companies" I'd considering signing on with.
So, what would be the story with an already licensed Class A?

if you already have a license but have been off the road as long as you have been you would have to go through a refresher course. it is a little bit shorterr due to you not having to have the permit section of the classes but it is still a good thing. i came in with my class a and it was helpful to me backing wise even though i had a year of experience and had driven a yard truck for a year and a half. and they do have an atractive lease program that is better then most out there from what i have been told.

Well, just read through all 238 pages of this thread again, I feel like I have already been to the academy, lol. Not quite, but as much info as there is in here, it's pretty close. Looking forward to getting out there next week. Should have my final approval tomorrow. Not looking forward to the 34 hour Dog ride, but all in all you can't complain about free training and a foot into a great career. Anyone else set to start on May 21st?

Unfortunately, they (or no one else it seems) will hire out of S. Florida - so I'm still considering my options. I kinda got something even stupider (than a lease) planned - though I do hear FFE's leasing program is actually among the better ones. I've got $$ banked up to purchase a truck. I'm just looking at options, and trying to formulate a game plan for the new year (which is still admittedly a ways away).

I'm with you there, I just got my call back from Tony B. Everything is set for 5-21.
He sent me the email with the Permit prep homework, academy info and the TX cdl manual chapters. now I just need to make sure my duffle is only 50 lbs. We can have a 25 lb carry-on. -

Cabwrecker, good call on the dps book. Focus on airbrakes, general knowlege dont even look at the tankers, doubles, and bus sections.
Ask your recuiter for the homework, its due in the morning when you walk in. most people dont find out about it until sun night. You will have a big headstart. Oh, make sure you are well rested for monday morning, trust me on this, you wont be able to sleep in for weeks!cabwrecker Thanks this.
