I live in Champaign, Illinois. Interstates 72, 74 and 57 come thru here. Does FFE have many runs thru this area. Would hometime be an easy thing to achieve in this area? Also, what are the "rider and pet" policies with FFE? I have tried to find some info, but must be looking in the wrong places. Thanks

i usually run through effingham about once a month. it is easy to get through effingham area if champain is close by there. and you can have a pet for .01cent a mile and rider after 90 days for 29 dollars a month

Thanks for the info. Effingham is about 90 miles south. Not too bad.

headed down to fort worth on june 4th to start training -- i was going with FFE before i read this post -- but helps confirm -me and my girl are going to run team --looked at a lot of companys theres seems the best deal -- i drove for 2 yrs in the late 80,s so a lot has changed looking forward to it -- we want to run all over and not to concerned about the home time so we should fit in with the program lol --- that is if we pass the muster lol-- well i worry about 1 of us not making it -- especially if its me lol --but we are commited and know that its more of a lifestyle change than a job change -- there program sounds like boot camp -- i survived that ok --- well im 54 and she is 50 --kids gone -- ready to hit the road -- i bet hunts point hasnt changed much

PS do you think it would be ok if i wore my ohio state hat to class as long as i had on a colt mcCoy browns jersey --- thanks guys this post was helpfull taking away some of the jitters--- hope to meet a few of you down there we will be that good looking middle age couple --- too bad i miss out on the dorm experience lol - bring a girl and stay at the motel -- free breakfast i hear -- will break up the bologna and pb&j 18 day smorgasboard

Hey Buckeye, I'm headed down there this weekend. They've got me going to the motel too, seems they only have 28 beds at the academy, so unless a bed opens from the previous class, everyone starts at the hotel. My recruiter said they will send guys over to the academy as beds open. Doesn't bother me either way.
Hopefully I'll still be there when you two come in on the 4th. I'll keep an eye out for the ohio state hat -
headed down on the 11th but does anyone know if they have a coffee pot goin at the academy or do we boil our socks on tha pad

hope we both are still at it with this company next year at this time lol --- seems like most of the guys stay busy anyways --sounds like we should average over 5,000 miles a week as a team and go just about everywere -- i have drove before she hasnt -- but we both have a good work ethic and shouldnt have to worry but we both really are about the school --sounds like they can teach you if your willing to learn and put forth the effort -- been a carpenter for the last 25yrs and she has worked for walgreens --so big change --- i dont care if i get home a few times a year but she wants to get home once a month and ohio that will happen anyways -- actually worried about passing the school lol --- its mostly the guys that are not worried that fail -- are attitude is do it there way --- well id be nervous if i had to take my 4 wheeler test over -- comes with the old age and the gray hair -- well good luck and hope to see you in ft worth -- shouldnt need a coat lol
