Happy bday playmaker
THE PLAYMAKER Thanks this. -
First off I'd like to say I have been reading over this entire thread and have found it very helpful and very informative, thank you for your posts.
My friend and I are considering choosing FFE as a stepping stone to get our feet into the trucking industry, this post and others I've read make FFE seen like a. Great place to do so.
I was wondering if anyone on here is a team driver for FFE, or could tell me about team driving for them? Is there money to be made team driving?
Any info you can give would be helpful and appreciated, thanks in advance.Last edited: Jul 9, 2011

Hello. I spoke with a FFE recruiter and he gave me a lot of information regarding CDL training. One thing he mentioned, and i forgot to follow up on is the dorm situation. I cant help but picture rows of cots set up in a common area(flash backs of Fort Benning GA) is that how its set up? Its not a big deal for me, just trying to get a better picture as to what I might expect. Thanks for the info.

The dorms arent that bad. Remember this isn't the mariot or anything but there are 3-4 people rooms and there are sungles so it is a luck of the draw thing. And when u get there if the dorms are full they put u up at a very nice hotel till there is room. The dorms may not be top notch but the training they give u MORE THEN MAKE UP FOR IT. The instructors there are great and the rewards are good also. Hope that helps ya man.

Thanks, Red. I'm cool with it either way. I would be there for the training, not for their room service. What I like from what I've read so far is the emphasis on training professional drivers, not just churning out road warriors to fill their lease trucks. Speaking from your own personal experience, do the trainers you team up with after Academy continue to build on what the school teaches, are they as professional on the road, leading by example? The reason I ask, is I am an easy going person, and I don't like road rage or aggresive driving. Do the trainers act like pros?
bayougirl Thanks this. -
They put everything into thirty training from what I understand. I am actualy sitting at the terminal waiting to get a trainer but they tell u if u are having a prob with a trainer they will try and fix it or get u off the truck and with a new trainer. We had 29 people start with our class and we finished with 13. They do get rid of the bad drivers but help u any way they can to get u trained the right way.
