Especially if layovers are involved. The company i worked for in the oilfield would book you a flight with 2-3 layovers cheap as possible. Make it an all day affair flying back from Texas or ND.

One day maybe I will get a chance to fly in an A-380 that goes close to the North Pole. An Internet penpal I have known for years is a Systems Engineer based in Sydney and sometimes his job requires him to make such a flight. He has actually flown the route being shown in the below clip.

If I remember correctly right after the 777 came out Delta bought several and used them for their Atlanta service to London's Gatwick Airport. I do not know if they are still flying there.

I flew a 777 out of Houston to Gatwick in 2005 on the way to Iraq. Packed in there like a bunch of cattle. Flew on a Airbus out of there to Dubai on Emirates Airline. The Airbus only had 3 seats in the center aisle. Seemed less crowded and the service on Emirates put any U.S. based airline I've ever flew on to shame.

I prefer foreign airlines. Old common person like me gets treated with respect. I use Hainan Airlines now; straight shot from Las Vegas to Beijing.

Old guy speaking here, at 65 years old.

My dad was a mechanic at United Airlines when I was young(er).
With his seniority we had unlimited passes. At some point it cost us an extra ten bucks to travel first class.

Those were the days that flying actually meant something.
You got dressed up, and were respectful.

Hawaii one a month or so, and not many weekends absent from flying somewhere.
Both dad and mom are buried at Punchbowl.
Dad was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
We would fly to locations that I was studying in school, just so I could get a more first hand experience.
Liberty Bell, Constitution? Let's go to Philly to check it out.
Let's go to Boston for all that cool stuff.
There is (or was, since I don't know if it still there) a world globe that you could walk into and see it all from the inside.

I even managed to get on the inaugural nonstop flight from the east coast to Hawaii.

Flying back then was a whole other experience than it is these days.
It was special back then, and people respected it.

Usually I get the the double deck Airbus A380. This time it is thr smaller Boing one. Covid is the culprit I guess. Emirates must have parked their A380s.

My longest flight on A380 was from San Francisco to Dubai, almost 17 painful hours. I looked like a zombie at the end of that flight.

Emirates fed me so much, now I have stomach problems lol. Emirates is second to none. My connecting flight is also Emirates. They will feed me again, oh please no!
