Moody’s, Fitch downgrade Forward Air debt; stock decline now above 90% - FreightWaves Forward Air’s 52-week-high stock price was $121.38 on July 27, 2023. The acquisition of Omni was announced Aug. 10, when the stock opened at $113.36 and closed at $104.02. It got as low as $61.56 on Aug. 27 before rallying somewhat, and then resumed its slide to bring it to its current level, with a 52-week low set last week at $11.21, a decline of 90.7% from that late-July high. If I owned shares in Forward Air last July, I'd be pretty pissed right now
Who invests into individual trucking company stocks like that though? Seems like a special sort of crazy (trying to be nice here).
My Grandfather told us kids, to only buy stocks that have a long track record of consistently paying dividends, buy a stock hoping the price goes up to then sell, is nothing more than gambling.
All my individual buys are for a 20+ year hold. Amazon and ODFL. I don't feel like I'm gambling, but I might be. But, I think I'm right.
Shareholders are pissed right now and just filled a class action suit. Probably going to get worse before it gets better. I’ll gladly buy up some shares when it gets down to $0.50.
I have an ESOP plan in Marten, though some of their stock has dropped a little. But they’re still in a better financial position than some other carriers.
I was told last year by a O/o that if I'm going to Lease onto a company be sure they contact with Forward Ar. Yet someone on these forums saud said otherwise. Whow, I need to search these threads and Thank that Driver.
