Ya know that's one thing that scares the living bejeebus out of me. We're so spoiled now with out toys and our way of life. If it came to the scope of the 20's especially with the amount of folks on drugs and just plain out the amount of folks even alive, it just blows my mind. Really makes me wonder if the US would even survive.
The Old days are dying and the New drivers only smell like they have.

Pete, I really think that's gotta be the understatement of the day.

I know how to grow a garden and hunt. Long as it didn't last too long I think I could too. -

I don't think I'm a hater.....I just think guys like you need to get out there and try it before you mouth off about something you know nothing about.
Until then, feel free to go back to playing Playstation and having your Mom bring you your little afternoon snacks after your nap time.:smt066 -
I have to agree bro. I would love to take a few of the younger "tough" guys and put them through Basic Training (minus the pansy STRESS CARD). Bet that would make them cry like babies or walk with a limp LOL!

Man.. that kinda sounds sweet. I wish my momma would bring me a snack.. about 2:30 everyday. Right before I drag out the blankie and take a nap. -
I may be stuck in the old days - and in the case of trucking, I DEFINITELY believe it was MUCH better - but I will say that a lot of the #### that's going on in truck stops now would never have started in the "old days". Those people would have found out quickly that their mouth or behavior was only going to get them into a world of hurt. That's a fact. I hate truck stops - to the point I don't go to them anymore. If the situation arises where I'm forced to go - which is hardly EVER anymore - my blood boils when I see this #### crap going on where these frickin' "drivers" are doing what you already said: leaving their truck parked in the fuel island and in the store - NOT just paying in advance for fuel, but walking around to the freakin' fast food store, picking up piles of fat-laden pastries and taking their SWEET ole' time.
I'm gonna tell you - that stuff simply didn't occur in the past. The worst part of it is, it isn't confined to trucking. These people that believe that corporal discipline of children is child abuse are the same people that have raised a bunch of ignorant, useless, - okay, I'm gonna stop here. I have tried to be as civil as possible on this forum, no use going there.
But I will say I agree with everything your posts have said. -
There is more good "child psychology" in the palm of the hand, when applied properly to the seat of the pants, than in all the child rearing books combined!
