####, what state allows 68,000 on a tandem? You'd need some pretty nice tires to reach that capacity. Do floater steers hit 10,000lbs for singles?

I am sure that's just the only problem you have noticed so far. It as simple as this. Drive like you know you are supposed to! It is entirely possible this "trainer" does not represent the policy of the company. So just do what you are supposed to, drive safe and right. If you do eventually see it is the companies policy then its time to move on. Its your CDL. Protect it it.

You're overthinking this. You know how you're supposed to drive. Drive the way your supposed to. Going to the boss and whining right off the bat sets a bad precedent. Once you get a feel for the truck and job you'll learn where you can push it. Btw running a red light isnt a place to push it lol

run the truck how you see fit, running like a idiot does not gain you anything, i pull gravel trailers, i run within reason and keep the door shut and ill get just as many loads as the guys driving like a holes. to many other variables that affect time a lot more than stopping for a red light.

That's how most of those local rock/grain haulers run around here. Blowing through red lights, rolling through stop signs, zipping 65-70 mph in the left lane on the loop, doing 60 in the 45 mph work zone, etc. If that's what I have to do to earn a decent paycheck, I'll pass...

I don't really pay attention except to the company on the truck and the fact that it's 9 times out of 10 a daycab. Lived around here most of my life, the offenders are all well-known local gigs paid per load

I never understood why people don't leave following distance. Like really, is riding someone's bumper going to get you there any faster than leaving a 500 foot gap?

I get paid by the hour, but allot of what my boss hauls with his trucks gets paid by the ton....... allot of highway jobs are like that. so i guess this has to do with the more the driver hauls during the time he is paid the more the boss makes, the happier he gets. i know this is how it works, i dont know how much of this run hard comes from the boss or if the guys that drive like jerks are getting paid better. no amount of pay is worth screwing up my license. i have to run tomorrow, crushed stone to the prison. i WILL drive the way i see FIT and if they dont like it, i stopped at the door manufacture that was looking for a driver today. they said they would call me back, but i dont see myself staying with a company that has drivers that behave like this.

i was driving along and had fairly large gap. he complained to me that because of the gap i was leaving i was going to get stuck at a red light. i said nothing but my thought was SO WHAT. it takes me 5 more minutes to deliver the load and i avoid doing something dangerous.

he told me to forget what i learned in school. i have to ride with this guy tomorrow for a while, really i will keep my mouth shut but if im only hauling stone i would rather just go it alone.
