From the other side/Point of view as the person at home.
Yes I know you are lonely and bored...me too. Being home alone suxs too. My ex did OTR for a short while and while he was training it really was tough plus I work from home so I really don't get out too often.

Now I am with someone who drives locals home every night but lives in a different state.....go figure....

This place is great to pass the time and meet people and I agree-talk to people in T/S-see if you can meet up with TTR members , get a good cell plan and call up your friends and family, email, facebook etc. Today there are so many ways to stay in touch that drivers did not have a few years back.

    JimDriv3r Thanks this.

When I started as a new driver in my co. I had to team for 6 months. First I thought that would help me in almost all aspects of my job... but after my first 3 weeks teaming I realized I could do much better on my own. Had 7 partners in 6 months. I enjoy being solo and would rather quit a co. than having to team again.

Yeah but they charge for it.
Borders, Barnes & Nobles, Starbucks and Panera Bread have free wi-fi but they aren't always truck accessable. And you can sometimes get signal from hotels, but they're getting wise and pass-word protecting their signal and keying it to the customer's room.

I do appologize to the Panera in Wooster OH though, the comapny gave me an addy but no directions. Pretty flagrently I pulled up outside their resturaunt to Mapquest a buisness in town and check satilite images for low bridges.

Verizon has a new wireless aircard with unlimited gigs for 60.00 a month. No need to keep mooching off of other wifi locations unless you can't afford an aircard,lol./
With an aircard you can access the internet almost at any location depending on the signal strength.
