Depends on the truck. I have mine on the floor, which is the foam and rubber type international uses. It's been fine for a year and a half over rough stuff. Standard upright design with a GPU holder arm for half of it.

Been right there for all my trips.Dieselboss and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Yup! Much faster. Good job: UserBenchmark: AMD RX 6800-XT vs Nvidia GTX 1080-Ti

That can easily be done as long as you don't want to do heavy hi-resolution gaming. The case is somewhat of a factor, but make sure that the drive is an SSD in a truck. Example: https://www.amazon.com/SkyTech-Blaze-Gaming-Computer-Desktop/dp/B08VYDFMS8

Today if I were still active there is no way I would use a platter HD, EVEN on a laptop. Right now in my Dell 3540, I am using M.2 SATA SSDs in adapters. I removed my DVD drive and used a Caddy. As to the case. If you plan to game really heavy I suggest making sure you have good airflow. Just in case anybody reading this does not know, Processors are made to throttle down as they get hotter. Heat is your mortal enemy!

I didn't "need" an upgrade, but it' s been an itch for a LONG time. and to be honest, I when I found the "deal" it wasn't bad. Since I paid 1200.00 for the 1080ti when I bought it, I don't feel real bad about paying 1050.00 for the new card. I know that sounds stupid but, you get hat you pay for. Yea, ok, I said the same thing... I'm not paying over MSRP for a card, but realistically prices are not going to drop any time soon, so why not get the performance while I can...
While you can say what you will about my choice... At the end of the day, it's still my choice, and I made it. So be it... Get on board, or get over it... We all have our "vices". Some will pay thousands for chicken lights on a tractor, just for bragging rights, and I pay for a GPU that will last 5 years if I want t too... WTF?
I didn't post for the criticism, or negative comments. I posted on the fact that I am capable of getting a "want" and not putting my family or bills at risk. Have a nice life and I hope you have a good weekend when you get there...
Guess I'll shut up now.Dieselboss Thanks this. -
Wasnt a criticism, your 1080 is better than my card which i bought 2 years after it had been out and you value the gpu in your rig way more than i do. Im not crapping on someone for buying and driving a new expensive sportscar, theyre cool, but its just not me, the thumbnail of how my home setup is so craptastic is the evidence of that, the horribleness of wallmounted pc that i literally touched 2 wires together to turn on for a year before i popped a momentary switch on it.... thats kinda my thing for computers, raw $/performance at as cheap as i can go. THATS the kinda thing that makes me happy

This is my current system and the right side of my desk. I don't game so I am just using an AMD GPU. I'm happy!
Dieselboss Thanks this. -
AMD is on par with Nvidia right now. And even better for me since I don't need to install anything for the driver on Linux.Dieselboss Thanks this.
