Ty. It's really easy to update the BIOS. Once I figure out what is up with the power. In a way. I hope it's just something I didn't hook up right. Cuz I don't think it's the power supply. Which means either a DOA MB or bad switch on the case. Both of which means a week down time.

Might I also suggest taking it out of the case and using the mobo box to set up a "test bench" and try that way. Start eliminating all possibilities of shorts/issues before spending more money on replacing parts/3rd party repairs.

Take the mobo out of the case and set it on the box; Hook up the power points needed to start the mobo; install Flash USB, then use a small screw driver and touch the 2 pins that start the system (The pins use would normally plug the case power to)

Also... what mobo and PSU did you end up going with?

    It's a gigabyte aorus b550i pro ax and a Ryzen 7 CPU.

While I'm waiting for the voltmeter to get here today. I can get to the MB easily. Without removing it from the case.

I just disconnected the power supply to the case's power switch and touched the 2 pins together with a screwdriver. Nothing happened.

The reason I am saying to take it out of the case is you may have a standoff short. (the little post you sit the mobo on that the screws tightens into) They are supposed to keep the mobo from touching or grounding the case, but sometimes it still happens.

Also, it's going back to the start. Like you said; You hope it's just a wonky connection, so starting over will help find out.

I wasn't able to diagnosis it myself. So dropped it off for a tech to look at yesterday. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. I'd be happy to learn it was just me being boneheaded. If not I'll just have to return the broken part for a replacement. Amazon is good about getting them out quickly.

So found out Monday it's the MB. Got it back yesterday and the replacement MB will be here tomorrow. So should have it up and running by Friday the latest.

Then next Thursday I will order the video card.

So an update and I might have been an idiot. But if that's true. So was the tech at the repair shop. Got the new MB today. Installed it and tried to power it up to flash the bios with Q Flash Plus. However, didn't power up, still. At this point in time. I had the ram and the SSD installed, but NOT the CPU. So I figured let's see what happens with the CPU chip installed. Low and behold it powers up fine.

Still not fully up and running, though. The MB doesn't like the two USB drives I have. So Q Flash Plus isn't updating the bios. So I ordered one that is small and should work. It will get here tomorrow. I also ran into only having 6 of the 8 mounting screws for my Arctic Liquid Cool. But on the plus side. The MB screws for the CPU are the right size. Just chrome instead of black. I also moved the fan from the back to pair it with the fan on the front of the case. So now it draws in the air from the front and exhausts it through the top. This will help to keep from dust coming in the top, too. I should be up and running tomorrow. If not through Q Flash Plus. I will try to boot into the bios and use the old style Q Flash in that menu. I did order a corded keyboard. Since I am sure my wireless won't work w/o an OS installed. OS will be Win10 LTSC. Already have that on one of the flash drives with RUFUS to boot it.
