3080s sold out in less than a minute . I was dead set on getting one but maybe I'll get a monitor first . Lg has a super fast ips panel I've been looking at and I ordered a 600 psu gold certified ,so at least I'll be ready when they restock the 3080.

 

Well I'm going to be starting with Stevens here next month. So I will be looking at a new PC build for the truck shortly. Have to see what the truck I get once solo has for inverter.

 

Paper launch. Wait for AMD. It's looking like they've got a good response.

 

They said it was going to be near performance of a 2080 , Unless there card is a hundo cheaper Ill pass . The benchys for the 3080 are 20% to %35 better that a 2080TI at half the price and this is on the first batch of drivers . Amd drivers are the weak link , they aren't dialed in like Nvidia. I'm an AMD guy so it be great for them to put something to compete but Nvidia is just sand bagging it and gonna hold the lead at least in my opinion.

 

Ohhh what you got in mind? There some good gaming laptop deals I have been peeping , at this point money is just burning a hole in these pockets .

Nvidia over promised and under delivered. They promised 2x performance from 2080 to 3080 and it's between 25% and 75%. The increase in performance is almost equaled by power draw increases. So basically you've got an overclocked 2080 with some extra ray tracing capability. It reflects poorly on Nvidia's progress. And if AMDs numbers are to be believed were looking at a card 15% better than the 2080ti with no guarantees it's the top card. Nvidia should be nervous, and they're acting like it.

 

Haha I gave up lol Signed up with all the card makers to get notifications when restocked . My rig pushes COD to 150 to 110 fps and at the moment that's good enough but yeah I'm jonesing for a new card and 1440p monitor.
